Month 8 Adventures

It was another eventful month for me. I just completed 8 months of life. I'm feeling successful. I've discovered a few interesting things this month. I hope mom and dad are ready because things are about to get all kinds of crazy now that I'm discovering things. They only thought they were busy, but that was before. Now I know things. I'm figuring this world out a little at a time. My parents are definitely in for a fun ride!

First up, the Sacred Selections fundraiser event. It was a year ago that mommy and daddy first attended this even as they began their journey to find me!

This year they added me!

It's past my bedtime

I will always smile when Ms. Dana holds me.

Oh! We can't forget the main event this month was my Adoption Day. It was a cold Tuesday morning in November. After waiting patiently for over an hour without fussing, despite my tired state, (which was rather decent of me), they called us in. Even though it disturbed my nap, the quick ceremony made me happy. Now I officially belong to mommy and daddy....whatever that means.

Me and my mama at the hotel

I'm thinking I don't want to cooperate for this photo

The morning of....apparently this is supposed to keep me safe and secure while they get ready???

Ready to go....me and my parents

You want me to smile for this one, too?

Adoption day outfit on point

Mr. Handy feels different than daddy

Listen, you woke me up from my nap for this. I will not smile for you!

Who are you and why are you holding me?

Today was just exhausting. I'm done!

Then I had my first Thanksgiving. Mommy and daddy made me my own special feast. I ate every bite of it. I especially liked that I got to try some of the same foods that they had to eat, too. I feel like such a big girl.

My Turkey day outfit complete with football leg warmers because the Cowboys played...and won!

My feast!!!! Do you see my excitement!?

We had a pajama party at McKenzie's house one night!

Mama made me go shopping with her and I had to try on hats. I was not amused.

Then she dressed me up in this stylish outfit to go shopping. This was a better day. I didn't have to try on anything.

I also think it's about time to put me in my big girl car seat.....

I still think I need to stick my tongue out in every picture

This track suit is giving me life. I've even got keys. I'm going places. Looks like I'm going to the gym, but I'm really just going to granddaddy's.

Oh, I also got my 2 bottom front teeth in. This thing is kinda my favorite thing to chew on these days.

I'm just sitting up by myself playing with some toys....no big deal. I can also roll over. I'm so accomplished.

My daddy is handsome, but I definitely make him look better!

Fancy like my mama

Going to church with my mama and daddy makes me happy

Look at this pretty dress Grammy bought me. I'm so fancy.

Then Miss Linda bought me this fancy red dress for my Adoption Day present.

My official 8 month photo with all my friends...and my tongue

My 8 month stats:
Weight: 17 lbs 3 oz
Height: 27 in (we think...mom and dad aren't exactly the best at measuring me)
Teeth: 2
I can roll over, sit up and play with toys by myself, and wiggle all over creation
I like toys that move and make noise, all kinds of food, and my tongue

Month 9 brings my first Christmas! I'm so excited about that. Let the spoiling begin continue!!!!

Forever Home

Well, I decided it was time to make it official. You know, allow these two crazies to officially be my parents. There's no take-backs! I'm with them now, forever, and always. I think I'm OK with that. I mean, they're new to this parent thing, and I'm still alive and healthy. I guess they're doing pretty good. They are a little goofy. I like it when they make me laugh. Daddy is really good at that. I really like that guy. He's always making funny faces at me and blowing on my belly. What I really love are his whiskers. His face feels funny, but I like it!

Then there's my mama. I get excited to see her when she's gone all day. I don't know where she goes, but I sure am glad when she comes back. She sings to me and snuggles me. I know I fight nap time when she tries to put me to sleep, but it's just because I have a fear of missing something exciting. I LOVE the mama nap time snuggles though. Man! She knows how to cuddle. She's a comfy nap place.

So, about my special day.....

We took a bit of a road trip. We drove a couple of hours to Georgetown to do this thing. I don't mind long car rides. This is where I get my good naps in. It was nice to have Nana and Granddaddy along for the ride. Well, not the actual ride because they took their own car. We stayed in a different place. It wasn't my usual sleeping place. That didn't stop me from sleeping though. I'm a good sleeper. I'm pretty sure that is a great selling point for me with my parents. Apparently, it is much appreciated when babies sleep well through the night.

Just a selfie with my mama! I'm loving this hat. It was a cold day, and my little bald head was warm.

Daddy joined in, but by then I was done cooperating.

We wake up the next morning and start to get ready for the big day. I woke up earlier than usual because mama and daddy were up and making noise. So, they had to entertain me while they tried to get ready. This was their solution.....

Really? A pillow fortress? Was this really necessary? Probably. We didn't have my usual entertainment devices on this trip. So, a pillow fortress and cartoons kept me entertained and contained while they got ready.

Here is my outfit for the day. Mama had it made especially for today. Miss Kay bought me the flower and tutu, and now I'm finally big enough to wear it. Also, I left a little bit of my sparkle everywhere I went.

Here's my silly face!

The family selfie I wouldn't cooperate for.

At least I made them look good in this one though.

When we got to the fancy building, we had to wait a while before it was our turn. I thought that I handled that really well. I didn't fuss at all. Granddaddy held me until I finally gave up the ghost and fell asleep. Of course, that's when they called us in. I mean, right as I was falling asleep! Talk about your bad timing. I guess I must have known how important this was because I didn't fuss at all while everything was happening. I just happily let mama hold me while daddy answered a lot of questions. Then I let the strange man in the weird dress hold me while people were taking all the pictures. I'm thankful that I look adorable even without smiling. Let me tell you, when I'm sleepy, I'm not smiling for no stinkin' picture! The strange man seemed super excited to hold me though. He had this big smile on his face. I think I made his day. You're welcome, sir. Please enjoy some of my pink glitter as a way to remember my presence.

Since this may be the best shot we have, I'm pretty sure this is our "official" photo for the day.

I really am intrigued by this strange man......why is he holding me??? And why aren't I napping yet?

This guy doesn't have whiskers like my daddy. I checked. He must be someone important because mama and daddy wanted him to hold me and take a picture with him. He was the man asking daddy all the questions in that room that was keeping me from my nap.

We had brunch with Uncle Chris after the big event. I really wanted to taste those biscuits, but no one would share. At least they had a bottle for me. After we ate, we drove the long drive back home. I was thankful because I could finally finish that nap that was interrupted.

This is how I felt after the day's events!

I'm glad I chose this family! They seem alright. They are a little crazy at times. They take a lot of pictures. I guess they love me lots. That mama and daddy are constantly kissing my cheeks. I'm just going to enjoy this ride with these people! They seem fun. I'm sure they have more crazy things planned for me on this journey!!!!

Month 7 Adventures

I had a crazy busy month! Way more things were going on this month. Mom and dad thought I needed to experience all the things this time of year brings. I don't know why, but I feel this is only the beginning.....

First up, a family reunion in mommy's hometown. I got to meet more family and see some of my favorites.

Aren't I the cutest pumpkin in the patch?

But first dinner....

I got to experience my first Halloween....sort of. Mom and dad didn't go crazy with the costumes since I'm so little. It was just enough for me to be adorable and get good pics. Then my parents chose super cheesy costumes. I'm sure next year we'll have something epic!

OK, so I do make a pretty adorable pumpkin. This tutu and these leg warmers are LIFE!

Hangin with my "Momster"

Excited to be with my "Dadcula"

Our cute family on Halloween...just a momster and a dadcula with their cute lil jack-o-lantern

Here are my official 7 month pictures that mom insists on documenting each month.

Me with all my friends. I'm really into waving these days. I don't know exactly what I'm doing, but people get real excited when it happens.

My stats!

Weight: 16 lbs 6 oz
Height: 26 1/2 in (we think)
I can laugh and wave.
I really like eating all the things, my bouncer, my toes, pulling my bows off, and putting things in my mouth.

I know we're a week late getting this done. So I've already experienced some of month 8. Let me tell you, some big things are happening for me this next month. I'm sure my parents are going to be picture happy. The important thing: I'm happy and growing and loving my life!
