Month 1 Adventures

I had a lot going on my first month of life. At just 5 days old I surprised mommy and daddy by becoming their baby girl. They were even more surprised when they received me in a kitchen at 10:30 at night. Then they saw that I was only a whopping 4 lbs and 13 oz. Mom looked scared. Like she was going to break me or something. I spent 2 weeks in Arizona before mom and dad took me back home to Texas. When I arrived in Texas, I was greeted by so many of those friendly Texans. And there were a lot of them! Here's some of my adventures from my first month:

Mom knew she was going to need extra caffeine on the way to the airport. It was going to be a wild and crazy night for her.

Mom and dad had a short layover in New Mexico while coming to get me. They changed their flights last minute since their original flight kept getting delayed. They were in a hurry to get to me.

While on their layover, they got a sneak peek at me. This is the first picture they ever saw of me. This was right after I was busted out of that hospital joint.

I was delivered to mom and dad in a kitchen by Ms. Becky. She was a real nice lady lookin' after me until mom and dad could get to me. I hear she's the one who helped me find my mom and dad. I'll have to remember to thank her one day!

Our first family photo. Man! I sure am a tiny little thing.

Daddy's first go at feeding me. I did a real good job for him. I'm a good eater.

There's mom and her coffee again. Apparently she needs a lot of it to function.

Yeah, dad does, too!

This was my first trip out on the town with mom and dad. We went to Target. That's mom's happy place. We went to Walmart a lot, too. That is NOT mom's happy place. But we sure did go to a lot of Walmarts while we were here.

This pillow was my favorite. I practically lived on it while we were here.

Or in mom and dad's arms.

Check out this pretty place we got to stay at while we were here!

These are my Phoenix grandparents, Tom and Susan. I really like them. I was the 23rd baby to stay with them.

This is Tom and Susan's daughter, Tracy, and her husband, Aaron. They met mommy and daddy back in January. They were very happy that mommy and daddy came back to Arizona and got to leave with me!

My happy place: mommy, daddy, and my pink fluffy blanket (thanks, Ms. Samantha).

The first of many snuggles with mommy and daddy in their bed I'm sure!

Me after my first bath. I think I did rather well.

Oh, I love the swaddle. Swaddle me all the time, please.

I'm so glad mom got this sling wrap. It's one of my favorite places to be. You know, since I never want to be put down. Apparently mom has a few other things to do besides hold me all day.

My favorite way to sleep.

Mommy and daddy took us on our first little family vacation to Sedona. It was a hot day and mom kept me hidden from the sun in my sling wrap. I'm there. I promise.

This is how I felt the day mom and dad found out we got to go home. Mom always had a vision for bringing home her baby in red and black. So, here I am. I get a feeling there will be more....

My Story

I'm Hannah! My life started as an adventure for my mom and dad. Now, they are including me along on all the things. I promise to make things interesting along the way. They have no idea what they're in for. Here's what I know: I was born in Arizona and they moved me to this big state known as Texas. I also know that they love me. Like, A LOT! How do I know this? Well, when they found out about me, they pretty much dropped everything to get on a plane to come and get me. Mama missed her best friend's wedding (that she waited like 10 years for) to come get me. They are always hugging and kissing on me. And it's not just my parents! Like, other people keep hugging and kissing and "oooohhhh-ing" and "awwwww-ing" over me too. Not that I'm complaining or anything. I do like the attention. I mean, who doesn't love being adored by pretty much everyone?

Mom and dad always look at me funny. Like, I'm something they just can't get over. It's a strange look. Sometimes their eyes leak. They just don't stop staring. They always tell me they love me. They also rock me to sleep every night after we say our prayers, read some stories, and sing some songs. Mommy likes to sing. She sings a lot. Daddy also sings me the only song he knows: "You are my sunshine." He thinks he's not that good, but I really like it when daddy sings. I also really like being read to. I hope some day they tell me why they're always staring at me with that funny look and those watery eyes.

I also have these people called grandparents! Listen, these people are great. They never want to put me down and they are always buying me things. A girl could get used to this. I think I hurt Papa's feelings though. I sometimes fuss when he holds me, I like him. I really do. I've just got to teach him how to hold me just right! He has whiskers like my daddy, so that's not a problem.

I also have aunts, uncles, and cousins. I think my cousins love me a lot. Most of them are boys, but they sure do hug and kiss me a lot. I don't know how long that will last, but I'll take the attention.

When mommy and daddy take me to church, there's always a line of people ready to greet me and hold me. Like I said, I love the attention.

Here's what I know about me:

I weighed 5 lbs 7 oz when I was born.
I was 17 1/4 in long.
I was born in Arizona.
I came from a family in Arizona who loved me so much that they wanted these awesome Texas people to take care of me since they couldn't take care of me right now like I needed to be.
I hung out with mom and dad in Arizona for 2 weeks before I got to come to my new home in Texas.

I hope you enjoy my adventures with my mom and dad!!!
