Then there's my mama. I get excited to see her when she's gone all day. I don't know where she goes, but I sure am glad when she comes back. She sings to me and snuggles me. I know I fight nap time when she tries to put me to sleep, but it's just because I have a fear of missing something exciting. I LOVE the mama nap time snuggles though. Man! She knows how to cuddle. She's a comfy nap place.
So, about my special day.....
We took a bit of a road trip. We drove a couple of hours to Georgetown to do this thing. I don't mind long car rides. This is where I get my good naps in. It was nice to have Nana and Granddaddy along for the ride. Well, not the actual ride because they took their own car. We stayed in a different place. It wasn't my usual sleeping place. That didn't stop me from sleeping though. I'm a good sleeper. I'm pretty sure that is a great selling point for me with my parents. Apparently, it is much appreciated when babies sleep well through the night.
Just a selfie with my mama! I'm loving this hat. It was a cold day, and my little bald head was warm.
Daddy joined in, but by then I was done cooperating.
We wake up the next morning and start to get ready for the big day. I woke up earlier than usual because mama and daddy were up and making noise. So, they had to entertain me while they tried to get ready. This was their solution.....
Really? A pillow fortress? Was this really necessary? Probably. We didn't have my usual entertainment devices on this trip. So, a pillow fortress and cartoons kept me entertained and contained while they got ready.
Here is my outfit for the day. Mama had it made especially for today. Miss Kay bought me the flower and tutu, and now I'm finally big enough to wear it. Also, I left a little bit of my sparkle everywhere I went.
Here's my silly face!
The family selfie I wouldn't cooperate for.
At least I made them look good in this one though.
When we got to the fancy building, we had to wait a while before it was our turn. I thought that I handled that really well. I didn't fuss at all. Granddaddy held me until I finally gave up the ghost and fell asleep. Of course, that's when they called us in. I mean, right as I was falling asleep! Talk about your bad timing. I guess I must have known how important this was because I didn't fuss at all while everything was happening. I just happily let mama hold me while daddy answered a lot of questions. Then I let the strange man in the weird dress hold me while people were taking all the pictures. I'm thankful that I look adorable even without smiling. Let me tell you, when I'm sleepy, I'm not smiling for no stinkin' picture! The strange man seemed super excited to hold me though. He had this big smile on his face. I think I made his day. You're welcome, sir. Please enjoy some of my pink glitter as a way to remember my presence.
Since this may be the best shot we have, I'm pretty sure this is our "official" photo for the day.
I really am intrigued by this strange man......why is he holding me??? And why aren't I napping yet?
This guy doesn't have whiskers like my daddy. I checked. He must be someone important because mama and daddy wanted him to hold me and take a picture with him. He was the man asking daddy all the questions in that room that was keeping me from my nap.
We had brunch with Uncle Chris after the big event. I really wanted to taste those biscuits, but no one would share. At least they had a bottle for me. After we ate, we drove the long drive back home. I was thankful because I could finally finish that nap that was interrupted.
This is how I felt after the day's events!
I'm glad I chose this family! They seem alright. They are a little crazy at times. They take a lot of pictures. I guess they love me lots. That mama and daddy are constantly kissing my cheeks. I'm just going to enjoy this ride with these people! They seem fun. I'm sure they have more crazy things planned for me on this journey!!!!
